Halloween fun on the Island

Community Café Halloween party

The Island Community Center hosted a Community Café Halloween party on Wednesday, October 31. Those present dressed as witches, a yokel, a clown, a French maid and more. After a meal (and dessert!) the group paused for a photo before playing a few games. The Community CafÇ is held every Wednesday at the center and is part of the eastern Area Agency on Aging's Nutrition Program, which serves noontime meals to persons 60 and older. To attend, sign up no later than Tuesday at 367-2735. Volunteers are also needed to help with the weekly lunches. To volunteer, contact Lisa Whittemore at 348-9488.

DISES Parade

Kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade students parade around the school, inside and out, most in costume on Halloween. The big parade was followed by parties in the classrooms with lots of treats.
