Gobblers for a good cause

On Saturday, November 10, Leslie McDonald-Rice (left) and Danielle Thompson collected more than 300 turkeys or $10 donations toward a turkey in less than six hours. Last year the pair’s goal was 200, and it took more than 12 hours. The turkeys and funds will be donated to the Island Food Pantry and will help feed hungry Islanders this holiday season. The pantry is able to buy food for as little as 16 cents a pound through the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
