‘Fun A Day’ produces artwork
The sixth annual Deer Isle Fun A Day exhibit took place February 2 and 3. The event is part of a national program where artists create one piece of art—whether visual, written or otherwise—each day throughout January. Artists can also choose to work on one big piece throughout the month. Showcased at dowstudio in Deer Isle, the age of the artists ranged from 5 to 85. Chosen media included cement sculptures, Lego houses, found object sculptures, mixed media paintings, origami, blackwork embroidery, line drawings, scrap quilts, calligraphy, wooden bowls and spoons, and digital photography. Pictured are found-object pieces by Peter Beerits. All area residents are encouraged to participate and can direct their questions for the 2019 event to firstname.lastname@example.org.
