Las Vegas company to visit Stonington seeking lobster supply
On Tuesday, March 4, the CEO and president of Lobster ME will visit Stonington to meet with lobstermen and dealers and begin discussions about creating supplier partnerships for the restaurant chain, Penobscot East Resource Center announced in a news release. The visit will be hosted by the Stonington Lobster Working Group (SLWG), a committee of the Stonington Economic Development Committee.
“The company approached the town with an interest in featuring Stonington lobster,” said Town Manager Kathleen Billings-Pezaris.
Lobster ME features a menu that celebrates Maine Lobster, with menu items such as Lobster Mac & Cheese, Grilled Lobster Tails on a Stick, and Lobster Rolls. Lobster ME is located at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip. Lobster ME’s second restaurant, scheduled to open in April, will be located at the Venetian Casino Resort. Expansion plans include new locations in multiple U.S. cities.
Lobster ME’s visit will start with an open meeting with the company from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at the town office. All fishermen and dealers are welcome. Throughout the afternoon on March 4, Lobster ME representatives will be available for private meetings with lobstermen or dealers who might be interested in supplying them. The private meetings will be set up in half-hour timeslots from 12 to 5 p.m. at Penobscot East Resource Center.
