by Tevlin Schuetz

Free live music returns to the Castine town dock this summer, courtesy of the Castine Community and Economic Development Committee.

Danny and the Blue Tones, led by locals Dan Graziano and Joel Mann, kick off the series on July 9.

The New Trad Trio, featuring Chris Harris of Blue Hill and Jack Moser of Deer Isle, performs on July 16.

The Brian Nadeau Big Band, formerly known as the Queen City Big Band, is back this summer for a show on July 23. They are an 18-piece band from Bangor led by Brian Nadeau, a prominent local lead player as well as an educational brass clinician and band instructor.

The Trad Septet wraps up the month with a show on July 30.

July 30 will also bring classic Concordia yachts to the town dock as part of a Castine Yacht Club symposium before the Castine Classic Regatta sails on July 31.

In August the series continues with a return performance by Jump City Jazz on the 6th.

The 195th Army Rock Band of Bangor, led by Chief Warrant Officer Brady Harris, plays on the 13th.

In the last act of the series, Derrick Selmer and the MaineLine Band deliver blues on the 20th.

Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m.
