BHMH to host annual Women’s Wellness Fair

Blue Hill Memorial Hospital will hold its third annual Women’s Wellness Fair at the Bay School in Blue Hill from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26. Lead sponsors for the event include Bar Harbor Bank and Trust and The Bay School, according to a news release from the hospital. The event is free and open to the public and includes activities and information for women of all ages.

“While some of our typical health fair activities will be offered, such as blood pressure screenings, diabetes and nutrition assessments, this year, we are bringing new, focused attention to the importance of both colon testing and immunizations. Women of all ages will certainly find a variety of health and wellness-centered exhibitors—offering information, demonstrations, tips, and more,” said Kelley Columber, community relations manager at the hospital.

Columber said most all departments and practices of the hospital will be represented, including Blue Hill Women’s Health Care. In addition, the fair will highlight other community health resources. Several local businesses and organizations are participating, such as At Home Downeast, Beth C. Wright Center, Healthy Acadia, Healthy Peninsula, Coastal Eye Care, Audiology Center of Maine, and the Sleep Center of Maine (a department of Eastern Maine Medical Center). The Blue Hill YMCA will share information about its programs and provide women with the opportunity to register for the August 3 BHMH Fun Run and August 30 Blue Hill YMCA Wilbur’s Run at the Blue Hill Fair.

Women who attend the fair will have an opportunity to meet complementary healers and practitioners, such as Acupuncture in Blue Hill, Blue Hill Healing, and Art of Living Well. For information, contact Columber at 374-3418.
