David Guarente announces candidacy for state legislature

Guarente enters race for District 133, Maine

David Guarente of Blue Hill, Maine has announced his 2014 candidacy as state representative for District 133 in the Maine legislature

David Guarente, a Democrat from Blue Hill, announced in a press release that he is running for the District 133 seat in the Maine House of Representatives. This district now includes Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Surry, Sedgwick, and Castine. Guarente will seek the Democratic nomination in the primary election.

“I want to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions and focused energy to the legislature by running to be your Representative of the new district 133,” he wrote in the release.

After graduating Norwich University, Guarente served as an officer in the U.S. Army for eight years, worked as a real estate broker for four years, and as a licensed land surveyor for six years.

He now serves as a full-time public servant and community volunteer.

His active roles in local nonprofit organizations and volunteer activities include: Tree of Life food pantry, Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Jonathan Fisher Memorial and Blue Hill Historical Society. Guarente and his fiancee, Dr. Jenny Talbert of Wellness Chiropractic, are active members of the Blue Hill Congregational Church.
