Celebrating the fishermen at Fishermen’s Family Fun Day

The annual Fishermen’s Day celebration, organized by the Island Fishermen’s Wives Association, drew a crowd to the Commercial Fish Pier for a day of family-friendly activities July 15. Beginning with the Hall of Fame induction of Melvin Hutchinson, activities included a pet show, watermelon eating contest, wacky row boat races, a cod fish relay and trap hauling demonstration.
