Haystack plans Island Workshop Day
Island Workshop Day, a day-long program for Island and Peninsula residents will be held Saturday, May 5.
The event brings together more than 70 participants for day-long workshops in Haystack’s studios. The program is in collaboration with the Healthy Island Project on Deer Isle. Haystack and HIP are working to foster participation in Island Workshop Day among individuals who are from Deer Isle/Stonington and the Blue Hill Peninsula. Spaces are reserved for people who have not taken a workshop at Haystack’s fall or summer programs. Because of increased demand for this program, and to make it fair to all applicants, a lottery system is used to select participants.
All participants must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of one of the following towns: Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Deer Isle/Little Deer, Isle au Haut, Orland, Penobscot, Sargentville, Sedgwick, Stonington and Surry, according to a news release from Haystack.
Lottery results will be emailed to all applicants on Friday, April 13. No refunds are available after Friday April 20. Application deadline is Friday, April 6. Download an application at haystack-mtn.org. Contact Haystack Mountain School of Crafts with any questions.
