Deer Isle selectmen ready bids for 2014 road work

In a brief selectmen’s meeting on Thursday, September 19, the Deer Isle selectmen met with Road Commissioner Paul Gray.
The topic of discussion was putting together description of the proposed road work for the 2014 season. The budget slated for work is approximately $90,000.
Gray suggested work on Oak Point Road, Reach Road and Lowe Road. The estimated total for work is $93,000, said Second Selectman Twyla Weed.
In other business, Third Selectman Lew Ellis said Darryl Brown had been contracted through September 2014 as the town’s plumbing inspector.
