Stargazing program offered in Sedgwick

Take a cosmic voyage with Blue Hill Heritage Trust as you lie beneath the summer stars near the top of Caterpillar Hill in Sedgwick on Monday, August 25. The exploration of the night sky will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the formal program will end around 9 p.m., according to a news release from the trust.

Charlotte Clews, naturalist and former BHHT Stewardship Coordinator, will be the guide for this nighttime experience. Participants will learn about the heavens, the moon, the Milky Way galaxy, meteors, constellations, comets, and the folklore associated with these celestial bodies.

This free and family-friendly event is part of BHHT’s “Exploring the Peninsula” series of programs. Bring water, snacks, binoculars and a blanket if you wish. Dress in warm layers since evening temperatures may be cool. Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended.

Preregister by contacting Eileen at 374-5118 or Preregistration allows notification in event of a cancellation or change.
