Absentee ballots available

Municipal elections will take place in the Deer Isle town offices on Saturday, March 6, before Town Meeting starts at 3 p.m. This year Town Meeting will be held at the Deer Isle-Stonington High School gym. Under state COVID-19 guidelines, only 50 people will be allowed in the gym, but an overflow group can watch the proceedings in the cafeteria. Town Meeting can also be watched on Zoom, but state law prohibits voting on Zoom. Masks will be mandatory and social distancing is required in the town offices during the municipal elections. Masks and social distancing are also required in the gym and cafeteria during Town Meeting.

All candidates are incumbents and unopposed.

Voters can request absentee ballots through Town Clerk Heather Cormier or online from the secretary of state at maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl.
